Fonts are expensive to fill, so we schedule baptisms back-to-back so that one filling serves several gatherings.

The Church has also found that full fonts are a liability issue. Curious young kids running around a church building with a full font while the grown ups are listening to a speaker is a recipe for problems. So limiting that exposure might have something to do with it.Scott Hinrichshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11831447472339880148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-87554664222716094212008-08-07T13:21:00.000-06:002008-08-07T13:21:00.000-06:00I've never liked Scouts (that's a different story)...I've never liked Scouts (that's a different story) but you're right about the children having a memorable experience individually rather than one of a dozen.

But the same thing occurs with LDS baptisms. Back when we were children *everyone* had their own personal baptismal program, now we group them all together in a Stake. And truthfully, baptisms are much more important than Eagle Ceremonies.

These once in a life time experiences should be special and unique.BigRedHammerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09525232250776614478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-49924006726809693162008-07-23T01:03:00.000-06:002008-07-23T01:03:00.000-06:00One idea to give it a distinctive feel: Call up yo...One idea to give it a distinctive feel: Call up your local ROTC (be it Army, Air Force, or Navy) Detachment (if you're near UU, USU, or BYU), and ask them to handle the opening flag ceremony.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04486513311176687085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-19561886670706433622008-07-21T13:38:00.000-06:002008-07-21T13:38:00.000-06:00I've deleted a couple of anonymous comments from t...I've deleted a couple of anonymous comments from this post today. It's the first time I have ever deleted comments that were neither overtly lewd nor were sales/promotional junk.

I have no problem with comments by those that disagree with me. Heck, sometimes I disagree with myself, especially when I go back and read what I have written.

But let's use some decorum here. Merely plastering a series of ad hominem attacks under a cowardly anonymous moniker is only informative inasmuch as it reveals something about the mind of the writer.Scott Hinrichshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11831447472339880148noreply@blogger.com
