I had thought that the oppressed people would exuberantly welcome freedom. But I was surprized that many expressed a fear of freedom. For example, if wearing a seat belt tends to reduce medical expenses after a car wreck, then the state has a big motivation to minimize by legislation the probability that they will have to pay our a big medical bill. <BR/><BR/>Ironically, the fact that our society has agree to provide a social safety net seems to be the very reason we are losing our freedom. <BR/><BR/>Excellent post.
