She is 24 years younger but looks 44 years younger, and he looks older than 64! It's actually uncomfortable looking at them, and then it's funny.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-3551945317454064232007-06-27T18:18:00.000-06:002007-06-27T18:18:00.000-06:00More like he's the "Next Great Conservative Dope!"...More like he's the "Next Great Conservative Dope!"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-53484848800440973462007-06-22T20:48:00.000-06:002007-06-22T20:48:00.000-06:00Reagan was at one time pro-choice. By the time he ran for president, however, he had not only changed some of his liberal views, but had built a legacy of staunchly supporting his conservative positions.

I personally have no problem with people changing to a new understanding. But judging from the harsh talk about flip-flopping so far in this campaign, there are many that do have a problem with people changing their views. Unfortunately for Romney, his multiple recent changes come across as political opportunism. Reagan's changes came across as sincere and in line with his character.

As I have said before, I am glad Ron Paul is in the race because he can help influence the debate. But he doesn't have the remotest chance of winning the nomination or of being selected for the VP slot (or even a cabinet position). Some of his supporters fool themselves into thinking that there are more people behind him than there really are or ever will be. And frankly, Americans demand broader political experience in their presidential candidates than Congressional Representative.

Mike Huckabee has a much better resume than Paul. He's certainly nothing to sneeze at. He doesn't seem to be doing what he needs to do to gain a strong enough following to get a significant piece of the mega Primary vote next February. Some people (yes, even in the GOP) have a problem with his minister-politician mix. His slant on government involvement in health issues scares some conservatives.

As for me, I'm keeping my powder dry right now. I can't bring myself to throw my support behind any of them.Scott Hinrichshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11831447472339880148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10424035.post-51211863961371568802007-06-22T17:13:00.000-06:002007-06-22T17:13:00.000-06:00He's definitely got the commanding presence. It's...He's definitely got the commanding presence. It's interesting how much the media talk about him. It's a bit odd that July 4th seems to be his announcement date.

Some people predict that he's getting high numbers because he's the mystery candidate, and that after he announces, his numbers will start to go down.

I heard yesterday on Michael Medved that Ronald Reagan used to be pro-choice, which means that people can see the important side of an issue and change their minds.

At this point I prefer Mike Huckabee or Ron Paul.Frank Stahelihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01822334061980912687noreply@blogger.com
